Information We Collect
Information You Provide: When you register, use our platform, complete forms, participate in surveys or skills tests, sign up for newsletters or events, collaborate on projects, or join our influencer programs, we collect the personal information you provide. This may include your name, username, email address, login details, profile information (such as photo, education, profession, and expertise), contact details, billing address, payment method, credit card number, taxpayer forms, and date of birth. We also gather government-issued IDs, passports, driver’s licenses, or biometric data for Identity Verification, along with linked social accounts, details of your gigs, projects, orders, purchases, reviews, ratings, and any content or files you upload, including audio or sensory information. Additionally, we process information from your communications with us, your interactions with other users, and any posts or contributions you make on our forums or social media. Agency freelancers may be asked to provide further verification details to confirm their business identity.
Information We Collect Automatically: We collect information whenever you access, browse, view, or use the Site, including details about your searches, transactions, interactions with other users, and the pages you visit, scroll, or click on. This usage data may include your IP address, geo-location, device and connection details, operating system, session duration, browser type, language, currency, keyboard settings, web-log information, and the URLs of sites you visited before or after using the platform. We also collect and process data through cookies and similar technologies, as explained below. To enhance your online experience, we use impression reporting, which gathers information such as a Global Unique Identifier, HTTP request data (including user agent, IP, host, and URL), geographic location, browser details, and device or operating system version whenever you view our ads.
Information We Receive from Third Parties: We may receive information about you from third-party vendors, service providers, and other commercially or publicly available sources, in accordance with applicable laws.
- We may receive additional information about you from third-party vendors, in line with applicable laws. This includes fraud alerts and security warnings from service providers to support fraud prevention and risk assessments. We may also obtain details such as your organization and job title from enrichment providers to help personalize your experience and recommend relevant services. In addition, we receive insights from advertising and marketing partners to improve, manage, and measure our campaigns.
- If you link, connect, or log in to your account using a third-party service (such as Google), we may receive certain registration and profile details from that service. This can include your name, email address, and profile picture. The exact type of information shared depends on the third-party provider and is governed by your privacy settings with that service.
- When you participate in online meetings, calls, or interviews through integrated tools such as Google Meet, we may collect and process information relevant to the session. This may include meeting metadata (such as date, time, duration, and participants), communication content, files or recordings you choose to share, and technical details like device, browser, and connection data. This information is used to enable smooth communication, verify identity where required, improve service delivery, and maintain a secure platform experience.
- If a third party submits a report or complaint regarding your activity on Gigred, we may receive information related to that report. This information is used to review, investigate, and address the issue appropriately.
- If you integrate your account with third-party systems, tools, or products, we may receive information about you based on the permissions you grant to those third parties.
We may combine the personal information you provide with data we collect automatically or receive from third parties, and use this combined information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Our Legal Basis for Using Your Personal Information
Where applicable under the law, all processing of your personal information is based on a lawful ground. In most cases, processing is justified on one of the following legal bases:

Automated processing may also be used to support these objectives. In certain cases, if we detect activity that poses a risk to the Gigred marketplace, other users, our community, or third parties, we may restrict or limit your access to Gigred. - We may contact you when you request it, as approved by you, or as otherwise permitted under this Policy.
- We use your information to promote and advertise the Site, our services, and the Gigred marketplace. This includes sending you direct marketing messages, presenting content and offers that may be of interest, and organizing referral programs, contests, or other promotional activities and events.
- We use your information to maintain accurate business records, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- We may use your personal information to send you direct marketing communications about Gigred’s products, services, promotions, or related offerings that may be of interest to you. These communications may be delivered via email, postal mail, SMS, telephone, or targeted online advertisements.

How Long Do We Keep Personal Information?
As a general rule, we retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. However, in certain cases, we may keep your personal information for longer periods. We retain data for the following purposes:
- Operational needs – as long as necessary and relevant for our business operations, for example, to maintain accurate records of your dealings with us in case of complaints or disputes.
- Closed accounts – to comply with applicable laws, prevent fraud, collect outstanding fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot issues, assist in investigations, enforce our Site terms, and take other actions permitted by law.

Children
This Site is available only to users who are 18 years of age or older and legally able to enter into a binding contract. Minors between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Site only through an account owned by a parent or legal guardian, and only with their consent and supervision. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Site or Gigred’s services, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children’s online activity. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties
We share your personal information with third parties as detailed below:
- With other users and Site visitors: Once you register on the Site, certain information, such as your username, country, photos you upload, portfolio, Gig/Project details, ratings, reviews, and any additional profile information you choose to provide, becomes publicly visible to all users and third parties. If you participate in forums or similar features, your username, profile, and uploaded content may also be publicly displayed. Verified business freelancers (agencies) may have additional details, including name, address, email, phone number, business registration number, and compliance certifications, displayed to EU clients in line with applicable legal requirements. Your information may also be shared with other users when you message or otherwise communicate with them. Please note that when you publish or share information on Gigred, you do so at your own risk. If you share personal information with other users, including Freelancers, such data is shared with them as separate controllers. While Freelancers are required under Gigred’s Terms of Service to maintain confidentiality, Gigred cannot guarantee that all users will comply, and it remains your responsibility to ensure that your information is shared with trusted parties.
- With users with whom you interact: We share limited personal information to facilitate smooth interactions between users and enhance the overall marketplace experience. For instance, if you are a Client, we may inform the Freelancer that it is your first purchase on Gigred, allowing them to better tailor their services to your needs. This sharing is carefully restricted in scope and designed solely to improve the quality of services you receive, ensure relevance, and provide a more personalized user experience.
- With Service Providers: We share personal information with trusted service providers for essential business purposes, enabling us to operate the Site, manage your account, and deliver related services and solutions. These providers support functions such as hosting, billing and payment processing, fraud detection and prevention, forum hosting, community management, data and cybersecurity, web analytics and performance tracking, translation services, IT tools, session recording, communication platforms, mailing systems, data optimization, marketing, data enrichment, as well as legal, financial, and technical consulting. In line with applicable legal requirements, we implement strict technical and organizational safeguards to ensure third parties protect your personal information and process it solely according to our instructions.
- Reporting: When you submit a report or complaint about another user, we may share certain personal information related to your submission. We may share limited personal information with these social media platforms and marketing partners to help promote our services and the Gigred marketplace. Please note that your use of such features is governed by the privacy policies and terms of the respective third-party providers.
- In the context of a corporate transaction: Personal information may also be disclosed in the event of a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition, sale, transfer of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction. If Gigred sells any business or assets, your personal data may be shared with the prospective buyer as part of the process. Likewise, if we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, the personal information we hold about our users will be included among the transferred assets.
Where We Process Your Personal Information

These providers may be located in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including the United States and India, where local data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

If you upload content, including personal details, to a social network and tag the Site—even on an official Gigred page—your data will be subject to that platform’s own terms and privacy policy. Gigred does not control or review those policies, so you should carefully check them before sharing personal information.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect the security of our Site, services, and personal information, preventing unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, destruction, or damage through industry-standard technologies and internal procedures. Publicly available data on the Site is not considered unauthorized access for security purposes. We regularly maintain PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) certification for credit card payments. Additionally, any third party processing your personal information is contractually required to ensure confidentiality and data integrity. We take measures to ensure the personal information we collect is accurate and up to date. You can update your information anytime through your account profile settings. If you believe any of your data is incorrect, please notify us immediately. We will investigate and correct any inaccuracies promptly or provide options to update or delete your information, unless retention is required for legitimate business or legal purposes.
We require identity verification before processing any requests to update or delete your personal information.
If you delete your User Generated Content (“UGC”), as defined in the Gigred Terms of Service, copies may still appear in cached or archived pages, or may have been saved by other users. Access and use of information on the Site, including UGC, are governed by our Terms of Service.
Specific Provisions for EU, EEA and UK Users
This section of the Policy applies to users located in the EU, European Economic Area (EEA), or the UK.
The Controller, as defined under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), responsible for processing personal data described in this Privacy Policy, is Gigred, India.
Under applicable EU regulations, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:
- to obtain information about how and on what basis your personal information is processed and to obtain a copy;

- Information that you chose to upload or otherwise provided by you to Gigred, which may include: (i) Identifiers and personal information, such as name, postal addresses, online identifiers, email addresses, passport number or driving license number, social security number; (ii) characteristics of protected classifications, such as gender; facial image; audio, electronic or similar information; (iii) professional or employment-related information; (iv) education information; (v) commercial information; (vi) Audio or other sensory information, for example if you provide audio-based services on Gigred.
- Information we collect when you use Gigred, including (i) Identifiers and personal information, such as online identifiers, internet protocol (IP) addresses, access device and connection information such as browser type, version, and time zone setting and browser plug-in types and versions; (ii) commercial information, including products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies; (iii) Internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to log-in and log-out time, the duration of sessions, the content uploaded and downloaded, viewed web-pages or specific content on web-pages, activity measures; (iv) Location information.
- Information that we collect or receive from third parties, such as service providers, advertisers, and third-party accounts you link with Gigred, including: (i) Identifiers and personal information, such as name, online identifiers, email addresses, internet protocol (IP) addresses, access device and connection information such as browser type, version, and time zone setting and browser plug-in types and versions; (ii) Professional or employment-related information; (iii) Internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to log-in and log-out time, the duration of sessions, the content uploaded and downloaded, viewed web-pages or specific content on web-pages, activity measures; (iv) Commercial information; and (v) Location information.
- Inferences are drawn from the information identified above to create a profile about you.
We use the personal information that we collect or receive for the business purposes as described above under the Section titled “How Do We Use the Information Collected?“.
We may share the categories of personal information described above with third parties for business purposes, as detailed in the “Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties” Section of this Privacy Policy. In the past twelve (12) months, we have disclosed all such categories for business purposes.
While we do not sell or share personal information for monetary gain, we may share it with marketing partners to personalize Gigred’s offers, ads, and content based on your preferences when browsing other sites. Under certain US state privacy laws, this may be considered selling or sharing personal information. You are entitled to the following rights, subject to certain exceptions, in relation to personal information related to you:

- You have a right to request that we delete personal information related to you that we collected from you under certain circumstances and exceptions.
- You have the right to correct the personal information you provided us with.

- You also have the right to submit your request via an authorized agent.
